Office 365 is a subscription-based version of Microsoft Office. You pay a monthly or yearly fee for access to all the office products. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote can all be downloaded and installed on your computer, just like the traditional desktop versions of Office. The only difference is they stop working if you stop paying for the subscription.
The big advantage to Office 365 is you always have access to the latest version. Right now, that is Office 2016. When the next version comes out, you’ll automatically get access to that as part of your subscription. Another big advantage of Office 365 is you also get Outlook, Access, and Publisher, in addition to 1 TB of online cloud storage and 60 Skype minutes per month. On top of all that, you can use all the Office applications from any computer or mobile device including PCs, Macs, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, and iPads.
